This program will feature a performance from the Tempo Primo Woodwind Quintet, which includes performing member Gary Greene, horn. Gary will be joined by guests Melanie Mathew, flute, Margie Berger, oboe, Deb Zelman, clarinet and Diane Remillard, bassoon. The Tempo Primo Quintet began life as the DuPage Symphony Orchestra’s woodwind quintet and performed for many years under that label. They still do so, but when performing not representing the orchestra, they use their new name which they will do on September 13. This particular collection of instruments, like string quartets and piano trios, date from the 18th Century, and they will be play one of the standard works for quintet.
Rounding out the program, performing members Chris Garofalo-piano and Kate Carter-violion, will perform a variety of pieces from composers Takashi Yoshimatsu, Hajime Okumura, Don Meyer, Astor Piazzolla, Eruch Wolfgang Korngold, arno Babjanian and Florence Price.
Free and open to the public!
